The Ingalls Police Department is now accepting applications for a Full Time Police Officer.
Ingalls PD now offers a lateral entry program, with vacation and pay benefits. (Starting up to $51,000)

Requirements to Apply

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver’s license, must have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for domestic violence, and must be a U.S. citizen.
Applicants shall be subject to written and physical ability testing, thorough background, polygraph, and psychological exam. (laterals may be exempt from some testing)

2024 Wages and Benefits

Starting wage of $46,000-$51,0000 (position will be eligible for a year-end review in November/December, along with the possibility of a merit increase based on your job performance.)
Ingalls PD also guarantees longevity pay each year at a rate of $100 per year of service. (Based on the anticipated start date, new hires will receive their first $100 payment in December 2025)

Accrued Comp Time @ 1.5 hours per hour worked in excess of 168 hours in a 28-day period
120 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) after successful completion of your 180-day introductory period. 40 of those hours may be used during your introductory period with the approval of your supervisor. The remaining 80 hours will become immediately available to you upon completion of your introductory period.
PTO is awarded annually at the beginning of each year at the following rates:
1^st – 2^nd Year = 120 Hours; 3^rd – 6^th Year = 160 Hours; 7+ Year = 200 Hours
Ingalls PD will match current vacation time for lateral transfers up to 200hrs/year
